But then you have to remember that this was back in the mid-late 1970's, and things were MUCH different back then than today!!!
One big difference between then and now is that the idea that "the most important thing in the universe is where is your next orgasm coming from" has been mainstreamed into mass culture and mass media much more now than it was then. Someone has a lot invested in convincing us that we are nothing more than stimulus-and-response animals, different only in degree rather than kind, and...well, animals gotta animal.
It may not be entirely new, but I think there actually is more of it around now.

Was talking about this at work today, and one of the guys had heard the story and said it had been reversed. Looked it up, and sure enough the judge issued a stay of his own order, claiming to have not known he was awarding custody to a child rapist. It's amazing what the clatter of pitchforks and the smell of tar being heated up will sometimes do to focus the mind of a civil servant.
It's also amazing the depths to which that lawyers will stoop in withholding information about their clients in the hopes that no one will notice.
A weak government usually remains a servant of citizens, while a strong government usually becomes the master of its subjects.

POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Of course for feminists what constitutes a capital offense for men is much lower on the impartial offense scale than what they consider a capital offense for a woman.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

I thought women were supposed to be the voice of reason and decency when it came to believing everything you see in porn movies.
