I don't like the government camel sticking its nose under the tent for any reason. I'd like a slew of challenges from licensed carry people to flood the courts so at least one case makes it to the Supremes. Reciprocity could very easily be argued using driver licenses, business law, marriage (maybe not that), and a slew of other laws that express the same intent.

Full faith and credit.

I'd rather have the "full-faith-and-credit" approach, but I'd probably be willing to settle for a National Reciprocity bill. Be nice to be able to visit cousins that live in Mordor-on-Lake-Michigan and not have to worry about carrying a highly-illegal firearm in a highly-illegal manner when visiting.

My attitude is much like the original Voting Rights Act. No act of Congress should have been required to keep some locations from infringing on the right to vote based on race. However, the reality was that it was a necessity.

I am not stupid enough to think that there will not be some negative consequences, but on balance I think it will be a positive.

What Vonz said. My view is this ranks right up there with the federal government's obligation to guarantee a republican form of government to the states.

Indeed.

In an ideal world it wouldn't be necessary, but we don't live in that world we live in this one.

I wish states would stop infringing civil rights, so as not to give the Feds actual cause to take more power away from the states and claim it for themselves, but Democrats just gotta be Democrats.

It will die in committee, just like the last dozen times it was tried.

Probably this time, but overall, I don't think you realize how much this is being pushed in the red states (even by people who are reliable Dem votes).

It will not make it this time, bills only rarely make it out the first time. However, it is coming.

It is like 20 years ago before Missouri got concealed carry. It was raised every session and went no where. But talking to a Rep one time, he said for sure it would pass eventually because that was all anyone in the state wanted to talk about. He said you would go to a chamber of commerce meeting, or zoning meeting, or whatever, and get nothing but questions on when the CC bill would pass.

Look at the how the CC numbers are booming (except CA and NY) and figure it out. It is coming.
