Finished Watt's Blindsight, now reading the second novel Echopraxia. It's a continuation of the Blindsight storyline, in the future after Man's first encounter with alien life. Vampires are involved.

"Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards.

Finally got sick of having all these picture ideas and no drawing ability, trying to do something about it.

Rereading Weber's "Mutineer's Moon" series. After that, Honsinger's "Brothers in Valor" and Kloos' "Angles of Attack" just reappeared from a pile of amazon boxes.

But we did some cleanup in the book loft last weekend... and my stack of Laumers (mostly Retief and Bolos but I like nearly all of his books) also reappeared, and lo, they do call to me...

I ordered a bunch of the Harry Paget Flashman books.

Right now, I'm reading One Continuous Fight which is about Lee's Retreat from Gettysburg.

Blindsight. Peter Watts can write science fiction as hard as crystal, like Charles Stross.

And now back to O'Brian, I finished Desolation Island and its time to move to the next one.

I just finished Blindsight and Echopraxia. I thought Watt was a bit hard to follow at times, moreso in Blindsight. Odd writing style.

I'm now reading the Texas Rangers: Wearing the Cinco Peso, by Mike Cox. Good so far.

listening to pandora's star... having a hard time following it in audio. It would probably be better in print, but I just don't seem to have time anymore.

Pretty much anything he wrote before he had the stroke is outstanding. He's one of my favorite authors, still. Shame all my books are in boxes right now.... I feel an urge to do some rereading:

Knight of Delusions
The Long Twilight
Galactic Odyssey
Once There Was A Giant
Dinosaur Beach
Plague of Demons
The Great Time Machine Hoax

to name a few good ones. :)
