If you see the Buddha on the road, kill Him.

If you see Clay Aiken on the road, RUN LIKE HELL. The Irish Mob is nearby.

Hmm...

I may be interested in a pair of boots. I have two questions:

1) Are they made from real rainforests? If the manufacture of some product didn't result in a third world village being razed, orphaned children, species made extinct, and generally wanton rape and pillage, I am simply not interested.

2) How well do they work on hippies? Are they effective only in the "kick" regime, or are they pretty good in "stomp" mode too?

Rainforest? RAINFOREST??!!! A "rainforest" is a collection of tropical plants inside a dome at a botanical garden. A freaking "rainforest" is the imaginary clean, happy forested section of Hippie Cloudcoocooland.

It is not the jungle. A jungle has heat, humidity, malaria, heat, snakes, bugs, heat, thorns, heat, malaria, swamps, heat, wet and heat.

You are talking about tropical rain forests. Here in the pacific northwest, we also have rain forests, without the heat, malaria, and in Alaska, without the snakes. We still have lots of humidity, swamps, wet, thorns, and bugs, however. [EDIT: I forgot to mention the BEARS!]

To answer Eugene's first question, the Super Rainforest is a heavy duty version of the original Danner Rainforest boot, of which I've worn out a couple pairs. The "Super" version is visually the same, but is constructed from two thicknesses of leather instead of the usual single layer. So, each boot requires twice as much dead animal hide to build as a normal boot. Also, when the rubber sole wears out, it can be re-soled, so the same boot can use up two or even three times as much petroleum product over its lifetime as a regular boot. I've got a pair that is admittedly showing some age, which have been re-treaded twice. Probably going to have my "new" pair re-soled soon. The soles would last longer working in the woods, but since I am on pavement all day long, 2-3 years is the most I can get out of a set of treads.

As for the second question, they do not have steel toes, so they are not optimum for that activity, but rest assured that your feet will remain well protected throughout the exercise. These boots are not inexpensive, but top quality rarely is. They are also made in America by good blue collar, hippie hating, truck/SUV driving Americans.

Look for Vibram soles.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
