So, you're making sausage?

Never used Tannerite. I'm well-versed in the capabilities of Boomerite, but that won't get you too far.

No,

Getting rid of a major PITA. We've tried hunting, "gang shooting" where 3-4 guys catch pigs on a bait pile and unload on them, trapping, poison..........

But pigs are smart; they learn traps real fast. And no matter how many "gang shooters" you have, when the first round goes off, then you're shooting at zig-zagging targets.
I can "Pavlov" train them to come to a bait pile inside a 30 min window. I'm thinking 8lb-10lbs of Tannerite on a wooden stake 5 ft in the air should get a decent kill zone.

Mebbe. Have to have one hell of a shockwave if you aim to kill without frag. May stun em some, give your gang shooters a better chance.

Take a look at this: https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=31.7236 ... 4&t=h&z=19

Notice the clusters of "gopher mounds" as you scan around the property? That ain't 12" wide gopher mounds, that's 4' wide by 12"-18" deep hog rootings and wallows.

Any chance of making yourself a "Tannerite claymore"?
(Pack suitably large amount of it into something pan-shaped, cover face with a sheet of steel ball bearings or large lead shot - #4Buck, say - and then place it so it will shotgun a swath in front of it towards your bait pile, so as to take out more than you'll get with straight concussion. Or at least make follow-up shots considerably easier on limping hogs.
Plan B would be to do the same thing with a section of metal sewer pipe, 4-6" dia., with the tannerite at the back end facing you, and the muzzle end, again, packed with bearings, or hardware nuts, and pointed over your bait pile like Godzilla's Shotgun. One hit at the back end, world's biggest bacon shredder at the business end. Call it the Tannerite streetweeper or Tannerite fougasse. You could even sandbag either or both to tamp in and focus the blast where you need your work done.)
If a brush fire isn't a problem, and you want to get a head start on the BBQ, a quantity of 87 octane double-bagged, and set on the muzzle blast side could also be interesting.

Whatever you try, YouTube it; we deserve the entertainment.

Thought about it a lot. Could do the same thing with a half-pound of black powder and 24" of 4 inch Sch 120 pipe, capped on base, with a model rocket igniter to fire it. IE, a giant shotgun. Trying to avoid projectiles if possible, though.

But if the blast wave speed of tannerite isn't fast enough to have good kill probability via concussion/organ damage alone, I may have to do the giant shotgun/claymore thing.

This isn't just for shits -n-giggles, BTW, it's because trapping/hunting/etc just isn't efficient enough.
Plus, the LDWF in their wisdom has decreed that from Aug 30 to Feb 30, they want no night hunting of feral hogs. Guess when feral hogs are most active, esp when under hunting pressure? Yep, at night.
The original state bill for feral hog control, as submitted by my state legislator whom I know semi-personally, was for 24/7/365 on private land with NVGs, lazers, suppressors, you name it. The state biologists were all for it, but the LDWF game wardens went ballistic, screaming that deer would be slaughtered by the droves, and promised to fight it tooth and nail.
So the compromise was no night of hunting hogs from Aug 30 to Feb 30; which simply makes a lot of land owners into quasi-outlaws, because most simply ignore the restriction.

You're not hunting at night, you are target shooting at night using explosive targets. There's no law against that, right? If some hogs happen to be present, and get in the way of your target shooting, that's their bad luck, right?

The video that's been referenced uses a ground charge in the middle of the feed area. Seems to be pretty effective. Comparing the Shooting Fiesta video (with 8 pounds of tannerite) to the feral hog flyiing video, I'd say they used closer to 20 or 25 pounds. If you look closely, there's pig parts flying all over. I'd almost say invite some of us to come over and join the fun, it's only18- 20 hours from me.

How about simultaneously "gang shooting" multiple tannerites set in a perimeter around a bait?
