Caring for Gore-Tex Boots

Caring for Gore-Tex Boots

Post by MarkD »

Someone I know has Gore-Tex winter boots (I don't know if the whole boot is Gore-Tex or if they're leather with Gore-Tex lining), she was asking me how to care for them/keep them waterproof. I've heard that normal leather waterproofing makes them less breathable, thus eliminating the main reason for buying such boots in the first place.

Any suggestions?

Regular waxes or silicones are a no-no.

When mine get really muddy, I just take a damp soft bristle brush and clean them off. Of course, these are work boots, so I don't really care how they look.

Cean them well and give them a good shot of Tectron.

For jackets and such that can be stuck in the dryer, ReviveX works extremely well.
