Randy, what was the successful argument you used? I belong to a club that has a no firearms on club activities clause in its bylaws, too, and it would be safer if that rule were written as yours is, considering, along with the various two-legged predators, -- can I say it? -- bears.randy wrote:One of my personal contributions was getting the no-firearms rule re-written to read along the lines that club members will abide by all federal, state and local laws. I fully expect some folks in that club to freak out if they ever figure out what that clause, as currently written, means since Shall-Issue went into effect here.

The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

I started hitting them with enough exceptions that would be needed to cover everyone that should be allowed (at agreed upon by the folks that would have said NO! to CCW), that the guy actually writing it put in the current wording to get the discussion over with and to avoid making that section 2 pages long.Windy Wilson wrote:Randy, what was the successful argument you used? "So you're saying that Police officers can't attend our events?" Try to add exception for LE on duty. "So, now you're saying that Off Duty police officers aren't welcome at our events if their department requires them to carry?" Another exception of LE off duty. "OK, now we're saying that armed Private Security officers aren't welcome at our events?" "Federal officers..." "Military..." Public officials such a IRS, State Agency investigators, etc that aren't technically law enforcement but can legally carry a firearm..
At no point did I mention CCW by private citizens. At the time we did not have any CCW (not even May Issue) in the state, so it never came up.
Ironically, our primary meeting place is a CPZ (Criminal Protection Zone), but I'm not so worried about that as being out at a public services event, or disaster response. (Wouldn't stop me from carrying, but it does remove one more potential hassle to deal with)
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

A Dwight Schuh Ultimate Waist Pack is what I’m using now and also had a Dwight Schuh Tree Stand Waist pack before and #3 daughter just took one day and claimed it as her own…I bought them at Cabela’s many years ago…
One I would really like to own is the Badlands Monster Pack…I tried one on at Cabela’s and it fit very well but I had tried to use my Cabela’s gift card here—at the only Canadian store and they wouldn’t except it—YET—as the takeover hadn’t got around to establishing the cards acceptance between countries—exchange rates etc…and couldn’t buy it…I’ll get one in the next week or two…
Also check out Eberelstock packs who make some excellently designed archery products and Gerber also has a neat looking model with water reservoir…

There is a certain type of mentality that thinks if you make certain inanimate objects illegal their criminal misuse will disappear!
Damn the TSA and Down with the BATF(u)E!

I have a couple of fanny packs , I wear a small size Uncle Mikes for my 357 and a Galco Escort Hip-Pack Holster. Both of them disappear with pullover or coat on .
I have only been made once , by an off duty State Trooper when we were chatting about ccw then he asked what I carried.
For me they are a logical choice, and I like their versatility. CCW is much about clothing choices

Uncle mikes.
Put your carry piece in the velcroed gun pocket and your bike tools in the other zippered pocket.
