Kel-Tec Customer Service

Post by JAG2955 »

The call went like this:

Me: Hi, I'm me, and I own a PF-9, and I want a metal magazine release.
KT: Okay, what's your address?
Me: *gives address*
KT: It's on the way.

Now THAT's good customer service. Free parts, no questions. I also asked for another follower, which was no problem as well. Granted, I wish that they had fixed the problem beforehand, but they sure are willing to fix it.

It makes me want to buy another Kel-Tec just to support them.

Brought in my PF-9 a few weeks back when a cartridge jammed after a light strike.

I didn't want to beat up the gun so I brought it over to them. They got out the offending cartridge and said the light strike was caused by brass shavings / brass dust caught in the firing pin hole. They chamfered the hole, replaced the mag release with a metal one and cleaned the gun (I had just put 200 rounds through it).

After 45 minutes or so, I was out the door and on my way.

Great customer service as always.

I got to say, Kel Tec is certainly one of the most customer friendly businesses I've ever encountered. It's a great business model, especially in an industry where brand loyalty is so important.

I'm actually writing a paper on them next semester.

So many belittle them for poor quality control, yet a seemingly superior number (including me) love them for what they are - an EXCEPTIONAL value.

Personally I've never had to send anything back, but I know if I did I'd have a great experience like anyone else.

Funny how the same people who crap on KT for being too "sloppy" also crap on Seecamp for being too expensive. These two companies have totally opposite approaches to the back-door - KT rolls 'em out as fast as possible and fixes problems later, Seecamp never releases a pistol until Larry himself test-fires it.

Their prices reflect the difference.

I have both, and love them - though I must admit I'm a bit more fond of the Seecamp...

Bought my P-11 'bout two years ago, it was a display model in a gunstore going out of business.
The owner said they'd had it a while.

I took the weapon to the range, and the transfer bar broke on it after about 100 rounds. Most likely due to it being a display model. (Lots of dry firing.) Sent it back, and got it back about a month later, (Send in was right after thier christmas break, I bought the gun in January.)

While it was in they polished up the feedramp cleaned up the trigger group. Since then, everythings been gravy.
