Help Me Choose

Post by Jered »

So, now, I live in a full-auto state. I also have a C&R in my possession.

I want a machine gun. I think I've narrowed it down to two choices. I'm thinking either an AR-18 or a Stemple STG.

Vote early and vote often.

Stemple. Looks more different (is that right?) from an AR. Cheaper ammo. Better conversation piece. Website says easy to replace parts.

Disclaimer: this recommendation is based on several seconds of Googling and does not represent informed advice. ;)

I'm leaning toward the Stemple (the one that looks like a Thompson) because of the modularity and that it looks like a Thompson.

But the AR-18 is a C&R. My brother-in-law doesn't think you can acquire NFA things with a C&R.

I'd surely check that closely.

You can get NFA things with a C&R. You just put your license number on the Form 4.

Ruben Mendiola will ship NFA things that way, too.

The BRP website said they were manufactured new before the 1986 crap. Will that still go on a C&R? IANAL, but I thought the cutoff date was 50 years old or something like that.

The Stemples aren't C&Rs, but, the AR-18s are.

Maybe I'll get an M-11.

I'm probably going to go with the Mac-11 unless the SOT here in town won't do a machine gun transfer.

It's just a Form 4, though, so, they should.
