Pondering a Panic Purchase

Post by Mike OTDP »

I'm considering a pre-election purchase, would like some feedback.

Leaving out the assorted target pistols (of which I have many), and the muzzle-loaders (of which I have more than many), my SHTF battery looks like this:

Rifles
ARs: 3, all 5.56
AKs: 3, all 5.45
M-14: 1
FAL: 1
Steyr AUG: 1
Garands: 3

Pistols:
Glock 19: 1
Glock 43: 1
HK P7: 2
.357 revolvers: 3
1911 or reasonable facsimile: 2
Other 9mm pistols: 2

Shotguns: 1 Remington 870

I'm getting twitchy...but am wondering if I really need anything else. Probably not, but what do you guys think?

Magazines and ammo. Both are pretty cheap right now but I'm guessing that will change in September/October.

I see only one shotgun... Maybe a VEPR 12? Also, lots of magazines and ammo.

Parts, Magazines. I am guessing you have .22LR covered and just chose not to list them.
Perhaps a bolt action in 30.06 or .308 since you already have those calibers.

I've got .22 pistols well covered. Three free pistols (Morini, Toz, and Hammerli). Six self-loading pistols (Pardini, Walther GSP, Hammerli 280, Hammerli 208, Izh-35, and a High Standard). And a couple of rifles.

I'm also OK on AR and AK mags, I've been stocking up for years.

Ammo.

Shotgun, if anything for firearms. You seem pretty well covered.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

mags and ammo for all of the above

spare parts kits for commonly broken items plus hard copy instructions on how to fix the common breaks

range time and maybe some classes.

The last may be the most important.
