I didn't think those two concepts went together.

Selling mine at a gun show tomorrow. Asking $200 and probably should ask $350 if he's getting $700 for that one.
one can be a Democrat, or one can choose to be an American.
Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

Seeing as he didn't get the $700 for it, maybe not. Remember, he can ask $700 for it, that doesn't mean he's going to get it.Rod wrote:Selling mine at a gun show tomorrow. Asking $200 and probably should ask $350 if he's getting $700 for that one.

Like the little kid selling lemonade for $1,000,000 a glass. Somebody asked him, how many customers he thought he'd get at that price. Kid said "I only need one!"Greg wrote:He only needs one sucker, once.

So, in looking at the posting, did someone actually pay $685 for that? If so, the value of my Mosins, that may or may not have survived the horrible boating accident, has just gone up.

No. That was the starting price. No one was fool enough to bid on it.

In this case, "Presentation Grade" is like "Collectible". Just as anything can be "Collectible", anyone's Mosin Nagant can be presented to someone, so it is "Presentation Grade." He admits the bore is dark.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Well, this is the free market at it's best.
Those who know these rifles and their value have nothing to worry about. But there will be someone out there that wants a decent looking MN, who doesn't do his homework, and has more money than brains who will buy this. More power to the seller in that case. But I think the seller is going to be waiting a long time for that someone to come along.
As my father once told me "If I sell you a horse, it's up to you to make sure it has a leg on each corner." Let the buyer beware.
