It was on sale until the end of the year. I ordered it through galleryofguns.com with their instant quote feature. I had it sent to the shop I coon fingered* lever guns at. It was $46 more there than at a place two blocks away, but I like these guys.
Lucky you! Well wear.

I picked it up right before Christmas. Now, I need to shoot it.

What bullet types feed best in a 357 lever gun?

What types tend to be more accurate?

Any bullet type to avoid in a tube fed lever gun?
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Avoid those dumbass "truncated cone" and any other pointy-nosed bullets, unless you like a single-use eight-shot rifle (and improvised Claymore mine). ;)
Try a number of factory loadings, and see what it likes best in terms of feeding and accuracy.
For plinking and practice, it's hard to beat anybody's whitebox FMJ .38s.

It's also hard to beat a carbine that shoots the same round as a handy .357 pistol on your hip.
If you don't have one of those, you know what you're buying next.
And get a scabbard or case to be able to tuck it behind a truck seat or in a car trunk, for "just in case" situations.
With pockets for a cleaning kit and a couple of boxes of shells. And fill them with such. 8-)
Then go have fun with it.

That's what I'm thinking. ;)

Been thinking that, too.

My Rossi/Puma eats just about anything, .38 spc or .357. If you try .38, don't be shy when you cycle the lever.

I wrote a year or two ago about trying Prvi HP .38s in mine, it handles them just fine. They're a rather generic lead hollow point. I bought a bunch of it, from AIM, IIRC.

Just ordered a variety of .38 and .357 from SGAmmo.

ETA: I also ordered Steve's Gunz action job DVD and parts kit. Should be fun.

If you reload, try to find some cast bullets that look like Lee's 358-158-RF. Work a charm in carbines, since they feed reliably, and cut a nice hole in paper or flesh-and-blood targets. And work well in .357 revolvers, too.

At least you'll save a fortune on targets. The gun only makes 1 hole
