I live in Texas. It is summer. I am missing some 20% of my body mass and 30% of my skin surface area. Kilts offer vertical airflow in a way that pants do not. 'Nuf said.

I remember when I was in HS, there was a two-minute trend among the skater punks. They would take about any wool plaid they could get their hands on and wrap it around their waist like a towel and don a belt on top. Of course, they tried to call it a kilt. This was very short-lived. I think they might have tried it for all of a week and a half. They probably got tired of the beatings.
