Y'know, I've been lurking/posting on the various iterations of this forum since March 2005, and even *I* don't know what the deal is with Kommander and the assless chaps.

Bull puckey. I very successfully applied a hammer to my head and eliminated the memory of the last thread focusing on chaps.

It's an inside joke from back in the Kim site days. I don't remember the exact topic of the thread but Kommander and I started trolling about head-shots, ninja rolls, ass-less chaps, whisky and rooftops.

I think it was the same thread that contained the quote "BOOM! Head-shot Mother F******"

Kommander and I laid out TEOTWAWKI and the thread devolved into lawn chairs, rooftops, ass-less chaps, classic porn and camel packs full of whisky. That was the official, unofficial SHTF plan.

Zombies, apocalypse, and gay midget albino porn may have, in whole or part been involved in the thread topic. I can't remember, it was a long time ago.

I remember that Kommander's statement began with the exact words "Come the apockylipse," followed by the infamous reference to donning a pair of assless chaps, and whatever else he was planning on doing.

Wow, dug up a 3-1/2 year old stiff. I wonder if the pants were durable.

Still wearing them, right now in fact. I now have 5 black ones that I rotate through for work and kaki and OD pairs that I use as weekend/field pants. I do recommend the Phantoms now over the others as the lightweight fabric is much better than the old cotton blend. The only wear on all 7 pairs so far is some fading on the older cotton ones, hem wear on the oldest one, and a small tear in one cargo pocket from a truck door.

I am pretty sure it's a Mad Max reference.

...so we're still on that. Yes it is. For a time I had Max as my avatar here. I do not recall how it started exactly but I know that it did not spring fully formed from my brow but rather I was inspired by another. The first mention of the assless chaps on this forum is here and as you can see it was already a "thing" at that point.
