Stopped at Walmart last night on the way home from The Boss's doctor appointment (she's having surgery on her elbow next week, which should be good for a laugh or two) and they actually had .22LR in stock!!! On the shelves!!! In plain sight!!!
Federal bulk pack, 525 rounds, $20.99
Winchester bulk, 555 rounds, $24.99
Limit three per customer.
Yeah, we got some.
Is 22LR back?

You did well! Around here the average is EUR 45-50 for 500. About the cheapest I can get .22 is EUR 35 for 500 (which, with the terrible exchange rate, is about USD 40). Anything cheaper than that is Remington brand, which I certainly won't buy, and would take as a gift only under protest!First Shirt wrote:... they actually had .22LR in stock!!! On the shelves!!! Best wishes to the Boss for her surgery, and "Hi!" to the Minions too.

That's almost per-hysteria pricing. I was getting it for $18.99 when it was on sale.First Shirt wrote: Federal bulk pack, 525 rounds, $20.99

Cabelas had federal automatch, winchesters, remingtons, aguila, norma, eley, even s&b subsonics and cci minimags, and a couple types of 22mags. And a bucket of 1400 golden bullet remington for $90 but screw that. But prices are not what I call great.

90 bucks is a lot of money for a bucket, but at least it would probably work.evan price wrote:Cabelas had f... a bucket of 1400 golden bullet remington for $90 but screw that.

The local Academy has been pretty barren lately. Wal-Mart has been hit or miss. I've gotten 50 rounds of CCI blazer for 2.47/box from them as well as the 100 round copper plated hollow point mini-mags boxes for $7.47. Wal-Mart's limit fluctuates between 3 and 10 boxes depending on how much they have on hand.

Some folks have reported Remington's bulk .22 has gotten a lot better. I'll stick w. Federal bulk. It runs in almost everything I have.
Somewhere I have a stash of Remington Thunderdolt. If the S ever HTF, I will barter it with my enemy.

I check the ammo shelves every time I visit Walmart, and zilch. The local Pawn&gun has CCI standard-velocity in 100-round packs for $14.95: NYET! And, .17HMR in fifty-rd boxes for the same price: double NYET!
Oh well. I've heard it said that if you're worried about ammunition supplies, you didn't start stocking up soon enough.

Federal 525 hps, Winchester Xpert, CCI Blazers. All work great for me.rightisright wrote:Some folks have reported Remington's bulk .22 has gotten a lot better. I'll stick w. Federal bulk. It runs in almost everything I have.

Remington Golden Bullet not doing well.
Thunderbolts are just bad.
