The ammo is here!

Two bags of A USA (Armscor I think) and 50 or 60 PPU (Prvi Partizan) thrown in. All non magnetic FMJ.

I would do it again, and in multiple calibers!

PPU and PMC. Lots loose. Just for grins, I bagged them in 50 round bags. Round count: 453. 24c/round

For comparison, a 500 round case from SGAmmo is $159.50 (32c/rd) and 1000 rounds of PMC is 364.5 (36c/rd) right now.

Now, I just need something that shoots .45ACP. (I'm sort of in the market for a 1911)

Keep us posted on other deals, Pawpaw.

I found mine on the bench last night when I came in. Cursory examination leads me to believe that it's all PMC Bronze #45A. This, of course, features a standard 230 grain jacketed ball at 830 fps, remniscent of the old Western-Olin .45 ball ammo I shot when I worked for my Uncle.

I'll have a post up on my blog later today, after I pull a bullet and verify weight, but I'm 99% sure that it's standard 230 grain ball ammo, which is noting to sneeze at. Good plinking, range, and defensive ammo all rolled into one.

Eidt to add. Yep, it's all PMC Bronze, #45A, a 230 grain ball round, perfect for lots of things. The round count, including the cartridge I sacrificed to weigh the bullet is 451 rounds of ammo. If we consider that the Plano ammo can is worth $9.00, the ammo alone comes to 22.2 cents per pop, in the door.

I received my box today.

I opened it to find the mini plastic ammo can with two bags.

One bag is all Winchester. The other bag is mixed. I picked 100 rounds from the mixed bag and weighed them. The average round is 21.52 grams. Calculating by weight, the Winchester bag holds 226 and the mixed bag has 229. I guess I'll have to send the extra five rounds back. ;)

I checked the head-stamps on the sample 100:

48 Winchester
42 Aguila
9 Armscor
1 Prvi Partizan

Using these as percentages applied to the total we get:

110 Winchester (plus the full bag of 226 equals 336)
96 Aguila
21 Armscor
2 Prvi Partizan

I was curious about the current prices for these, so I did a Google search on each one, got four per-round prices for each and averaged them. I then multiplied the cost per round by the quantity:

Winchester 226 @ .50/rd = $113.00
Winchester 110 @ .50/rd = 60.00
Aguila 96 @ .39/rd = 37.44
Armscor 21 @ .34/rd = 7.14
Prvi Partizan 2 @ .41/rd = 0.82

TOTAL $218.40

Not bad.
