Summer carry. Whatcha using?

Post by JAG2955 »

Since it gets so hot here in the summer, I have to forgo the 1911 and I carry a Glock 19 in an Incog holster. Incog holsters are a great piece of gear. It's a soulless combination, but I don't care if I sweat all over the Glock. It's a police trade-in, Gen 3, so no big deal if it gets abused.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger (heh) on a Smith and Wesson M&P340 to make a lighter-weight and pocketable pistol for carry. My favorite Kuhl shorts have very small pockets, so I hope it works out.

So how do you beat the heat while packing heat?

The same thing I always carry, winter or summer. A j-frame in my pocket.

Browning Hi-Power in a shoulder holster or IWB, or a J Frame pocket carry.

I.e. same as Paw Paw, what I usually carry
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

PA-63. One reload. NAA .22LR Mini Revolver, as a backup. If I'm jogging, just the NAA.

* I used to carry the PA-63 in a bellyband while jogging, but this is more comfortable. I may end up regretting this choice, but for now, I'm willing to go with it.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Taurus tracker 357 in the summer and 44 mag in winter , dosent get that hot here , when at the cabin or fishing a 45-70 on my back , because hand guns tend to just annoy big growlers .

KelTec PF9.
Pretty much what I always carry, unless it's a Taurus 605 357 snub. Sometime I carry that.
NAA mini-magnum as deep backup.

I carry a j-frame 360 almost all the time, winter or summer. I don't typically do pocket carry- lately my favorite holster is the a Remora IWB.

I have a Desantis as well- might be the nemisis...I've got a second one for my SD9. It's a nylon clip-on. I got the remora for the ability to tuck in a shirt over it, but I like it so much that it's taken over as my daily carry holster.
