I re-read the thread on my other forum... The DA declined to file charges against the property owner.

In Sweden this would probably not even be trespassing, with the exception of them using a motor vehicle on a private road. There's a "right of public access" which means anyone can go pretty much anywhere, and the propertyowner cant stop them. The limitations are that they cant destroy anything or cause any damage, and they cant be too close to a house. "Too close" is usually defined as within sight and hearing of the house.

That said, there's people that's done similar things as in this article. I know people that have encountered armed property owners that's tried to bully them to leave by displaying a gun. There's no legal justification for it, so the people doing it usually claim "they were out hunting when they saw someone and just wanted to ask who they were". As long as they dont point the gun at anyone or threaten to shoot them, they could get away with it, since it's their word against the other partys word. But people have been convicted for doing it.
