Groovy.I'd order all three but settled for the Escort III to test.

Yeah, really. I'm already surprised that the plastic lettuce knives they sell in supermarkets haven't been banned in NJ, a terrorist could sneak one thru a metal detector while the TSA agents are busy groping four-year-olds or dumping the contents of Grandma's colostomy bag all over her dress.Denis wrote:Hmm.

It's a really expensive.......shank. It's better than a <$10 ABS or Zytel dagger......how? LINKYPlease keep in mind that carbon fiber does not offer a super sharp blade on the knife, it's not really meant for cutting, but rather for self-defense/stabbing. The blade does not hold an edge, but can be "sharpened' by simply using a sandpaper or even a sharpening stone.
For the record, I have a few of the glass-filled Zytel knives, both fixed blade and a Blackie Collins folder. If you think they can't be sharpened to the point where they will slash your skin and flesh open, you're full of crap.

I have Zytel and Ceramic knives already. What I don't have is a carbon fiber one!

Unless one uses an easy bypass technique.CByrneIV wrote:Oh they're very effective weapons. That's the real reason for the backscatter machine by the way; non metallic and non magnetic metallic weapons.

There's also these: hairbrush and comb knives.

That's what I suspected from day one with these these new machines. I have to fly into [strike]the lions den[/strike] New Jersey next month and am going to have to be very careful to properly sterilize all of my bags, clothes, and equipment. Last time a giant pair of scissors somehow got into my toiletry bag.CByrneIV wrote:That's the real reason for the backscatter machine by the way; non metallic and non magnetic metallic weapons.

Maybe we're just jaded, but your villainy is not particularly impressive. -Ennesby

You know, this makes me wonder about the socalled "combat canes". If you have a note from doctor, and bring one with you, what can they say to you? It's really only a very heavy, very solidly built cane. Hell, I'd consider just buying a length of heavywall aluminum tubing, borrowing a tube bender and TIG, and slap a rubber bumper on it.
