Kinda surprised they'd pick a state as anti-gun as NC...

NC really isnt that bad... open carry is legal, NFA items are good to go so long as you create a trust... CCH is shall issue... the only real issue i have with NC is that the purchase permit system sucks... that and no castle doctrine...

I am working with my local forum to try to get a meet and shoot together for sometime that weekend.

I agree. I absolutely, positively despise the pistol purchase permit deal. I flat out refuse to buy pistols here, and instead wait until I'm on leave. IMHO, it's one of the more heinous gun control laws on the books right now. I'm also not a big fan of the no carry where alcohol is sold and consumed, which is pretty much every restaurant.

I doubt I'll attend, but who knows what might happen in the future. Besides, I'm officially a Life Member now.

The pistol permit is a throwback to disarming of blacks during reconstruction. I suspect it will be struck down within a few months of McDonald being handed down.
