Happy Midway Day!

Post by Mike OTDP »

74 years ago, the United States Navy engaged a significantly stronger Japanese force at the Battle of Midway. In a few hours, they sank four enemy carriers, killed roughly half the pre-war Japanese Naval Aviators, and established American dominion over the ocean. It's the American Tralfalgar...not the last battle, but the pivot from which all later victories in war and successes in peace derive.

And deserves to be celebrated.

Bless them all, and hoist an EXTRA round for those in Torpedo Squadron 8....
I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.

Aye

And let's not forget the Commander Rochefort and his crew in the rear that made it possible
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Don't forget Strawberry 5.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.
