I can't recall a college textbook that I ever bought that had pictures too big for the iPad. Well, pictures that were actual illustrations, not just a nice title page piece.308Mike wrote:Most books of this nature don't lend themselves very well to electronic format since they are so graphics heavy, with large color photos.Windy Wilson wrote:Eventually I'm going to have to buy one of those.
I'm not really a luddite, you know.
As an aside, I'm amazed all textbooks aren't published to be displayed on an iPad.

Re: SR-71 Flight Manual Online
I was mostly referring to the other book being discussed, "Sled Driver", and not so much the flight manual. "Sled Driver" is more like a coffee table book, with many of the photos taking up almost the entire 10"x12" page (some large spreads cover BOTH pages). Because of its value, mine is kept inside our gun safe.Jericho941 wrote:I can't recall a college textbook that I ever bought that had pictures too big for the iPad. POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Ahh, okay, I see what you mean.
I kinda wish I had a copy of my dad's book about Lockheed. I can't remember anything useful as to how to find it, other than it had an SR-71 on the cover with LOCKHEED in big red block letters, trimmed in white. I think he got it for employment longevity, or one of those other silly ideas corporations have about dealing out little trinkets to reward surviving multiple rounds of layoffs. Anyway, I remember that as a little kid, the parts about the SR-71, Constellation and P-38 were what got me fascinated with aircraft.

At the risk of reviving a necro thread, I wanted to say that I was able to find a electronic version of the book with a simple google search... So if anyone wants to read it, it is out there.

And as to your original post to start the thread, I'll go read the manual, you just tell me a time and place.
