The Cole Cart

Post by Windy Wilson »

I'm not sure whether this should go in Gear, since it is equipment, History, since it was used by the Marines and naval infantry just before WW2, War Room, since it pertains to tactics, or Humor since it is the real life equivalent of a certain former poster's (now enjoying Uncle Sam's Hospitality at the Graybar motel) tactical wheelbarrow.

My father's Bluejacket's Manual from 1940 contained diagrams which showed the tactical use of these carts in parade-ground type maneuvers. Once "the balloon went up" the Cole Cart was not used in actual combat.

The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Hmmm. Why doesn't the picture show instead of the file name?

That's exactly what I thought! No word on AR's in 5.56 with 9 inch suppressed barrels for hunting large forest omnivores, though.

I think the Brits used a little two wheeled cart in WW2 and after to carry the cases for the Bren MG. The steel 28 round magazines in the full case was well over 100 lbs

Seem to remember a two man recoilless rifle mounted on a motorcycle.

These things were just for parade ground use? What were they supposed to mimic that couldn't be carried around on the parade ground?
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."
