OK, just to throw a wrench in the works, here is an extremely informative video testimony by Dr. Don Easterbrook, Professor Emeritus of Geology at Western WA University. All his testimony is backed up by raw data and peer reviewed.

"Global Warming is a Lie"

He is giving testimony to a Washington state senate working group. He addresses several issues about climate change, the main thrust being:
Global warming stopped in 1998
Co2 cannot possibly cause global warming
The ice caps are not melting
The sea levels are not rising at an advanced rate
The oceans control the climate and go through regular periods of warming and cooling and are very predictable
The data that has been presented by IPCC, NOAA, NASA, and other agencies has been manipulated but raw data does not support their claims and agendas

The video is 1 hour and 29 minutes, but it was interesting enough that I didn't mind sticking it out. Have fun

The Desertification of North Africa occurred when the continental gap between North and South America closed. This changed the paths of the main large ocean currents. (which are warm).

So correct that it was a lack of warm water, but it had far more to do with ocean current changes that global cooling.
Nope, there hasnt been that much tectonic shift in the past 100,000 years. Check the link I posted above. 8-)
