I just heard his greatest hits of the week, which they broadcast locally on Saturday. He was talking about some supposedly new footage from the flight that doesn't make Dr. Dao look so good. I heard him read the whole transcript.

The smoking gun is simply the cop saying "I'm going to arrest you" then, Dao said "you'll have to arrest me" and the cop said "you know how this is going to go right?" Dao responds with "I don't care. I make lawsuit against United." According to El Rushbo, that somehow justifies the police's thuggish overreaction. I think maybe it's time for Limbaugh to retire.
You say "You are going to have to drag me out" to a Chicago cop, and you don't think that is going to happen?

I am pretty sure that for whatever reason our hero decided that this was the hill he wanted to die on. Seems to be working out for him at the moment.

3 suspended cops and an airline which lost $2 Billion of its worth in a matter of hours might agree.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

To all the property rights absolutists out there - easements are not new.

It is long established law that people other than you, total strangers even, can have (limited) clearly defined and quite enforceable, rights to and on *your* property, whether you consent or not.
You consent when you purchase the property knowing about the easement or when you grant the easement. Granted some easements are effectively forced on the property owner by the AHJ, but still.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Are not carriage contracts on common carriers treated as easements? Well, I'm still glad I'm not a lawyer.

Nevertheless, the my house my rules crowd have no real answer to easements.

You really have no idea. Some of them can't type.

The way I see it, the guy paid for United to pick him up at a certain place, at a certain time and then drop him off at a certain place, at a certain time. United didn't live up to their end of the bargain. Seems like United is getting what they deserve.

Thanks. Any chance of getting the other thread merged into this one?
