I one read that France got 70 percent of their electricity from nuclear power. It is now up to 76%. This got me to wondering. France keeps a pretty tight security on their plants but I wonder How secure the ones in Germany and Sweden are.
As a hypothetical does the US need to start planning a pre-emptive strike on those plants in Germany and Sweden to keep the Jihad's from getting ahold of them

Thanks for the reassurance, Yogi, but didn't a nun break in to Oak Ridge a couple of years ago?Yogimus wrote:Nuclear power plants have a private army
If the security at Oak Ridge will let a nun slip through the cordon, don't color me convinced.

Well when Yogimus retires he can take over the security at Oak Ridge.

That private army, in my experience, tends to be Wackenhut (rebadged into G4S Secure Solutions.)Yogimus wrote:Nuclear power plants have a private army

Yea... And?PawPaw wrote:Thanks for the reassurance, Yogi, but didn't a nun break in to Oak Ridge a couple of years ago?Yogimus wrote:Nuclear power plants have a private army

She and her companions walked for 2+ hours in a facility that sits on 35,000 acres and managed to get to a wall... And then did nothing but got caught.
I worked for the company that is building the only 4 plants under construction in the US right now about a year and a half ago, these are not small facilities. And there are only a very few ways that someone could actually cause a real problem with one, most of which require very extensive knowledge of facility layout, operations, nuclear power plant functions, safety protocols, etc... Not to mention knowing enough about the security to be able to defeat it.
The list of people that could actually pull something off that could cause issues is limited to a small subset of those that actually work for such facilities in a macro level, and of those people the likelihood of any of them actually doing something is almost nil...
It goes back to what we have said on here before in reference to things like air traffic control, water plants, power grids, internet backbones, etc... The people who are truly capable of causing damage are by and large people who will never have a desire to do such things.

Yep, spend more time trying to scare the staff than secure the perimeter.Steamforger wrote:That private army, in my experience, tends to be Wackenhut (rebadged into G4S Secure Solutions.)Yogimus wrote:Nuclear power plants have a private army
