New Gender Language

Post by D5CAV »

I'm not sure if this belongs in humor, but someone seems to take this seriously, and this is a real news story, so I guess "Current Events" fits.

Apparently University of Oregon student Elle Mallon feels that honorifics such as Ms. are sexist and insulting, along with she, hers, etc.

So Mx. Mallon is offended unless xe is referred to by hyr proper non-sexist pronoun.

Under Sharia law, idiots like Mx. Mallon need to wear a burkha, they can't travel without a close male relative escorting them, they don't get to vote and don't get to drive. That way, I don't have to see or listen to them, and they can't do anything stupid with a car or a vote.

I'm so ready for Sharia law now.

Never sending my imaginary kids to Oregon.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."

Well, at least she's not carrying a mattress around, pretending she was raped.

Otherwise, she's just another roster-line in the ever growing list of The Perpetually Offended. She'd probably shit a brick if someone opened a door for her. I could use her around here, as I always need more bricks.

Also:
... a single unintentional gender-based microagression occurred.
Makes me wonder what these folks will be like when (if) they grow up.

They are becoming their own SNL parody.

Since it is offended by gender-specific pronouns, we should accommodate it and refer to it as "it." Since guys aren't offended, they can keep their pronouns.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Also, shouldn't "hyr" be "hx"?

Every time I hear the word "micro-aggression", I think that the person using it to describe what they're mad about is too sensitive to live in this world of ours. And it makes me want to treat them with good ol'fashion SubGenius acu-beatings, particularly with a clue-by-four.

Someone needs to tell this woman that Ms. , Miss, Mrs., and ma'am are more preferable terms that can be used to describe her gender, other than the usual 'bitch', 'slut', 'skank', et al terms I hear used by her fellow Democratic constituents.

At times when I've been chastised for addressing some one as "ma'am", I have been known to inform them that it is a term of respect, and I won't make the mistake of using a term of respect in reference to her in the future.
