Roll Tide -- AL Going Green

Post by blackeagle603 »

Our kind not welcome in New York? No problemo, Mr Governor. Have a nice life (and look up the definition of fungible).
High level sources have informed Yellowhammer News that Remington, one of the world’s largest gun manufacturers, will on Monday join Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley in announcing that they are moving jobs from their largest manufacturing facility in New York to Alabama.

Remington’s Ilion, NY plant currently employees around 1,200 people. It will likely stay open, but with a greatly reduced workforce. Sources say the company will be bringing over 2,000 jobs with them to Alabama with an estimated impact on Alabama’s economy of $87 million.
Remington is Alabamy bound.

Ain't that interesting? Is Yellowhammer a trustworthy source?

Outstanding. Bet they slowly close the NY operation entirely.

Wanna bet before long, they at least file a bill, if not try to vote into law, something preventing businesses from moving? These people are so arrogant, there is no doubt in my mind they will eventually try it.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

As Atlas Shrugged seems to be viewed as an instruction manual, mostly, by DC… I'd say you're right - TMK, they would already be banned from leaving, if it was viewed to avoid unions.

Remington isn't big enough for them to care about in Albany. Now if half of the brokerage firms decided to move across the river.. That is billions of tax revenue gone..

Amazing, and encouraging.
That news is the first evidence of intelligent life in Ilion in twenty years.

Ruger's long since been doing split ops between Southport and Prescott AZ, and Beretta announced last month its newest expansion won't be in MD.

So now if/when S&W takes a runner, you can stick a fork in NE as far as gunmakers. (And I don't doubt they're already actively looking for new digs too.)

That reality thing is a real bitchslap sometimes.

As far as that goes, some of the gun companies moving may be doing so for exactly that reason, and appearing to be taking a principled stand against gun control in their home states is a win-win scenario that both provides cover on the union issue, and scores points with the customer base.
