Everyone has apparently forgotten the Blackshirts in the twenties, murdering Giacomo Matteotti, and handcuffing opposing journalists and others to lamp posts and forcing Castor Oil down their throats (which can be fatal, btw).
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
