Damn. Yeah only half the post doesn't make much sense. That was his feelings on unions.
It was interesting coming from a somewhat leftist kid in Pennsylvania.

Bell bottoms were a trait of bourgeoisie capitalist pig-dog individualism of the American 1970s, like disco and pet rock. Everyonve knows all good Communist wear one-piece coveralls, Mao suits, or military uniform of whatever glorious Socialist state they belong to. We will accept Che t-shirt for time being, at least until we have established dictatorship of proletariat. /zamploit

I do know that jeans were a highly sought-after item on the Soviet black market, but I believe that was mostly in the 1980s, not sure about the '70s. So I'm not sure if bellbottoms were undermining communism or not.dfwmtx wrote:Bell bottoms were a trait of bourgeoisie capitalist pig-dog individualism of the American 1970s, like disco and pet rock. I did some work with the USAF Soviet Awarness Team in the 80's. Part of their duties was regular trips to the USSR.Jericho941 wrote:I do know that jeans were a highly sought-after item on the Soviet black market, but I believe that was mostly in the 1980s, not sure about the '70s. The always packed an abundance of two things: Blue Jeans and American Toilet Paper. They once hired a cab for a week with a few sets of jeans and a package of TP.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".
