The last 8 years doesn't exactly show the Constitution means anything anymore.

Calexit? Can't wait! Not so much for the stuff you guys are talking about, but for the chance to plaster "Dems vote (again) to leave the United States (again) because they want to keep their slavery institutions (again)."

What did they learn in history lessons?
How to get by at the back at the class.

PS - also I want to watch liberal-world burn. I have this sick little dream of watching Oakland resident cross the bridge and burn down San Francisco, or the hippies of Berkley turning feral and turning upon each other when the power/food spigot gets turned off. I wanna see President Jerry Brown's suede denim secret police. I wanna see Pelosi/DiFi fleeing on private jets to countries with no extradition treaty. I wanna see armed mercs trying to keep the ravaging hordes from overtaking Disneyland.

What he said.

I also look forward to the new States of the Red variety.

It does to some people. And if the people who still care start dropping a deuce on the parchment, what do we have left?

By the way, Randy is correct. The day after the California State legislature succeeds in it's secession efforts, the counties in the "State of Jefferson" will secede from California.

The "State of Jefferson" will succeed in their secession (say that three times fast!) because:
1. They have guns, including those banned AWs that they "forgot" to register, and the residents of the "blue counties" don't.
2. After secession, the legislature in Sacramento can't call on the US Army to keep the "red counties" from seceding.
3. Most residents in the "blue counties" have never been to the "red counties" and couldn't find their way there with a map.
4. Those "red counties" are some interesting terrain (I've hunted there). Better have done your stair climbing machines at the gym if you want to do combat operations there.

That leaves LA, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose and San Diego as the Peoples Democratic Socialist Republic of Kalifornia. Good riddance!
Have you looked at any recent election maps? While i agree with your reasoning, i disagree with the scale: the 2008 map shows more than half the counties going red, and most of them are sparsely populated hill country. The imperial valley, for instance, went heavily blue, meanwhile, Modoc, population :9147, went red, along with its neighbors lassen, shiskayou, and shasta (which combined have a population of under 300 grand.

And you forgot one key factor about them seceding: the port of Los Angeles. Its the busiest port in the US, and a vital economic link.

Ports

Los Angeles is pretty far down there until you lump it in with Long beach.

Thats by tonnage, by value long beach is bigger than the next three combined.

Although with the panama canal expansion nearing completion, this may be less of a factor than it is currently
