Cover-up In Chicago

Shocking stuff... I am completely surprised that corruption happened in Chicago...

I did not read article, but since it is Chicago I assume it involved some public servant doing their job without a bribe or whatever and the subsequent need to cover that fact up so that only a consistent wall of corruption is visible to the public.

Am I on the right track?

I have some old friends who live in Cook County, in the Chicago suburbs.

They call themselves libertarians, but they get all their information from the MSM, which in practice means they're pretty typical upper-middle-class liberals except they like guns.

It's very interesting hearing their perspective on this. They're unhappy about the shooting, offended bordering on outraged at the blatant cover-up, tired of the corruption, but have no idea (because the media hasn't mentioned it) how far the corruption goes and simply do not have the factual grounding or the mental wherewithal to put together what it *means*.

No.

Chicago cops offed some guy. He was waving a knife at cops from close up, so it was a good shoot up to the point where the guy went down after 2 shots but the cop kept shooting. Dumped the rest of the mag, reloaded and dumped the second mag. While the guy was on the ground.

It got covered up. There was only one shooter, and there were multiple sources of video, but everything was hushed up as it was 'under investigation'. Conveniently until after the Chicago mayoral election.

The video that came out only came out because of a court order, in response to a lawsuit filed by a reporter. The city had already settled with the dead guy's family for $5mil, and a NDA was part of the settlement. So without the lawsuit and the court order, this likely would never have been revealed (or the cop charged) at all.

I heard on the radio that a lot of folks in Chicago are calling for the feds to investigate hizzoner. I have to admit that put a big, happy grin on my face. There are few who deserve it more.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Hmmm, any relation to the feds who 'investigated' Lois Lerner, and are 'investigating' Hillary?

I guess I should have added a sarcasm emoji.

The bright side of this is now concealed carry classes will have a beautiful example of what to do and not do all in one video.

And where was the Chicago media for a year? It was forced out by a freelance guy: http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illin ... onald.html
Too many refer to it as "the city that works" in the media. Oh yeah, Chicago really is one bad mayor away from being Detroit. Nearly all the media in the town are John Stossel before he realized the gummint was the problem. They go after businesses until someone in gummint cries outrage and says they will fix it. So now when it is the gummint, they don't really know what to do.
