Yes, the media is clearly in the tank for the Communists - and that there is any such thing as a Communist in this country, without being immediately ridiculed/publicly shamed, is a black eye for our nation - but, anyone who can't handle a dancing monkey, idiotic enough to profess a love of Lenin, while being paid millions, he's not up to the job.

I would say not calling out "do you still beat your wife" questions for what they are is being a victim. In situation like this, the important part is to not answer the questions as is, it is to address the assumptions behind them.
If you do it right, it makes all of the difference in the world. If you just whine, you are a victim - meh.
