Out Of Control Cop Goes Psycho

Post by skb12172 »

Before anyone attacks the source, do a google search for Deputy Shawn Glans. This has been reported by numerous news outlets, including the more "Traditional."

As I've posted before, thank God for video…

This is yet another of these posts which is probably going to irritate Paw Paw, and I realize cops put up with a lot of shit, but I don't think he will try to find justification for this, because there is none.
The police officer bully in this video is Saratoga County (NY) Deputy Shawn Glans. Deputy Glans had no idea he was being recorded when he slapped a man in order to intimidate him into conceding to a warrantless search of his car.

Why did he assault the driver, identified as Colin Fitch? Because he saw a .22 caliber rifle in the back seat of his car.

No reason was given to suspect that the rifle, purchased by Fitch earlier in the day, was illegally owned or in violation of any of the multitude infringements on the Second Amendment by New York. That wasn’t going to Stop Deputy Glans from harassing a gun owner and joking about it. He said Fitch and his friend were wearing dark clothes and “acting suspiciously” in a feeble attempt to justify his actions.

The exchange on the video unfolds as follows:

Deputy Glans: We’ll get a f*cking search warrant, you want us to do that?

Fitch: I mean if that’s the route you want to take, but there’s no reason you have to search my car. There’s just no need for it.
Deputy Glans (to his partner): Okay, lets get a serach warrant.
Fitch: I wasn’t in my car when all this was happening. Like, why don’t you want to search, like, my house or something
Deputy Glans: Let me see your f*cking keys!
Fitch: Why?
Deputy Glans: Because we’re going to search your f*cking car, that’s why
Fitch: You can’t do that
Deputy Glans: Do you want to resist?
Fitch: I’m not resisting
That’s when the Deputy slaps Fitch while saying “you want to f*cking resist?”. He then took the car keys and threw them to his partner, telling him to search the car.

When Adam Roberts, the passenger in the car who was surreptitiously filming the entire incident, told the deputy “that was intense”, Glans responded by saying, “you like that huh? I can get a lot more intense.”

Roberts asked if he was going to slap him around and the deputy had a few more choice words:

“I’ll rip your head off and sh*t down your neck”

UPDATE: The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office has made a press release announcing that Deputy Glans has been “suspended without pay effective immediately pending the outcome of the investigation and possible disciplinary action”.

No Excuse For That
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Not particularity bothered by this. The cop was wrong and has been suspended. The Sheriff did the right thing. He slapped the woman, he was wrong. He probably should be charged with battery, one second after he's fired.

I don't know if one slap deserves the Psycho label. We'll just tally that up to your over-wrought use of descriptive verbiage. You have a brilliant career ahead of you, writing headlines.

I don't want to get too excited about it but my feelings about these situations are very much in line with my feelings about prosecuting criminals for petty crimes. I want to see them all prosecuted because I just don't happen to believe the one time they were caught was the one time they did it.

THAT.

Deputy Shitstain didn't wake up that morning, have a bowl of Fuck Everyone, and suddenly decide that beating someone into submission was something to try that particular day.
It's something he's obviously been doing unhindered since time out of mind.
After the battery charges, tacking on the "unlawful, under color of authority" modifiers, and federal felony civil rights violations for both officers (one for perpetrating the act, and the second for not intervening and becoming an accessory after the fact) should be mandatory, and everyone up his chain of command up to deputy sheriff should get a week off without pay as a reminder that supervise is a verb.

And then the state, having surrendered sovereign immunity, should file amicus briefs in plaintiff's civil trial, so that Deputy Shitstain & Partner's future after their time in the Big House will be cold and miserable to a point that gets the earnest attentions of every other officer in the nearest 200 jurisdictions.

As video after video demonstrates, the only people who lie and break the law on tape as often as actual crooks, are cops.

Had someone apprised this dick of the knowledge he'd be lo-jacked and live on camera 24/7/forever on duty, he might have opted to spend an entire 30-year career coloring inside the lines, instead of being a serial felon with delusions of Special Immunity.

And I have to note for the record that his last name is the most totally appropriate moniker I've seen in some time.

HALFMOON, N.Y. (AP) -- A New York sheriff's deputy has been charged with harassment and official misconduct after a video posted on YouTube showed him cursing and apparently slapping a young man who had refused to let him search his car.

Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo said Sgt. Shawn Glans was charged Monday after an investigation into the encounter Friday in Halfmoon. Zurlo said Glans resigned Monday, hours before a planned disciplinary hearing.

A video recorded by the man's friend shows Glans cursing and insisting he has a right to search the vehicle, which had a rifle inside.

A judge on Monday forbade Glans from having contact with the man, who hasn't been identified. A phone number listed for Glans was out of service.

Zurlo says a deputy who was with Glans on Friday is under internal investigation.
One would hope that the feds were planning to bring federal charges as well, but I wont hold my breath.

It ain't all happy yet. Deputy Meatus Glans still needs "investigated" fully, and any justified corrective actions taken.
