PSH At My Alma Mater

Post by skb12172 »

It was vinegar and baking soda inside some water bottles, but they've shut down the entire school district. I used this exact same recipe to try and clear a sink clog at my parents' house last weekend. It didn't work because THE REACTION WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH. However, let's start a blind, fucking panic over some kids screwing around, because TERRORISTS! Morons…

In other news, they'll probably call in a SWAT team and shoot the family dog because neighbors saw a couple of kids playing with a 2 liter bottle of coke and mentos.
Fayette County school officials say they found three homemade overpressure devices at Lafayette High School Wednesday morning.

FCPS spokeswoman Lisa Defendall said the homemade bottle explosives were found around 8:30 a.m. near the back of the Lafayette bus parking lot, behind the music department. One of the devices self-detonated, Defendall said, and the other two were de-\activated.

No one was injured.

Defendall said the district is sending students home from all five high school campuses as a precaution. All student activities have been canceled for the day to allow law enforcement to check campuses and ensure safety.

One of the teams that were out at the school Wednesday morning was the softball team whose coach is a former state trooper and has some experience dealing with scary situations.

"It is not my first experience as far as something like this. But in a school setting with me involved as a coach, it is my first. And it can be nerve-racking about what is going on. And your main concern is the safety of who you are training or who is with you at the time," said softball coach John Parks.

School police is working with Lexington police hazardous devices unit.

Brilliant!
Every student watching just learned a new way to get tests cancelled, and at no risk of getting tagged for it.
School always teaches, if only the administration would pay attention to what.

Sadly, the ATF still considers such things to be bombs and prosecutes heavily for them...

Uh, you're a little behind the times.

You can close a school for a day by writing 'BOMB' on a wall in a bathroom. The school district in my town has had a rash of such 'bomb threats' recently, and it's made the paper.

They only have to make an example out of a couple pranksters per year to keep it manageable.

They don't even have to do that. All they have to do is hang it around the neck of someone who is unlikely to fight back. Guilty is irrelevant.

"Overpressure device?" So a shaken soda can thrown in a high arc into the cafeteria?

This is beyond silly.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D
