Spam accounts

Post by mekender »

Ok so I was bored tonight and went through the member list. There seems to be a couple dozen user names on the list with zero posts that are pretty apparently spam accounts. Several of them have website links to junk addresses. I know they arent posting and causing problems but they are there nonetheless.

Other related question: on an open forum, what's the point of registering to not post anything? There's 218 people with zero posts.

EDIT: for clarity.

And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Not all areas of this forum are open.

Sorry, Chris - I guess that was the wrong terminology. I meant that in this forum, you don't have to register to gain access to almost everything. I just wondered why a genuine account would exist for someone who never intended on posting. So, "open forum" wasn't really what I meant to say.

Well some people do not post and simply lurk. I also suspect that there are a couple accounts here, even those that post once or twice a year that belong to either law enforcement or the anti's.

I believe you have to register to view attachments.

Also, thanks again to you guys for putting up with the hassle of weeding out spammers so we can have a nice hangout.

If this forum had a bar and served a decent burger, I'd never leave.

Throw in a Guinness Vanilla Float and it would become crowded about dinner time.

Rumpshot,

I don't know if you're serious, but that sounds positively delicious.
