Yep, of course I broke away from social media like 8 years ago after a brief time on Facebook and have never used Twitter.

Hm. I was compelled to get a Facebook account so I could "like" my company's page.
I joined Twitter on a lark to support one guy, I forget who.
I ignore both of them.
What do I do besides check in here? Read books and
check out a roster of websites and blogs with good information and getting all of my news directly from those sources, not from people posting them to social media
I think his experiment is working for me. :D

My wiggly, curious about everything 7 month old grandson took a nap on me yesterday when everyone else was gone. It was sweaty, slightly uncomfortable, and glorious. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

The only bad thing was that everyone else came back, he woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and... they took him away.

ETA: Forgot to add - I had all the lights off so his head on a swivel would settle down. They came in and didn't know where we were. We were in the library; they were in the dining room. So I slowly opened the door, and held him about 6' up with his head peeking around the door frame. It was a few seconds before one of them noticed and nearly had a heart attack.

Taking a nap on you is how they recruit you into their service.

I think now I have seen it all:

P.E. will get real interesting with about 30 kids all twirling slings in the air at the same time.

I guess, given technology, they don't have books in the classroom any more.

And I can't see a bucket of rocks being an attractive nuisance in a school either.

ETA:
Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate
I'd think it should be IALEC. But that's not as catchy.

.... that weird feeling when you are looking at the product plan for your division and one of the major items is built around a random idea you had a while ago and have been working on in your spare time with more or less no funding or priority.

A bit to far on the tough guy crap, but a nice rebuttal none the less.

I have a 98 Toyota 4Runner with a manual trans. 244k miles on it. First gear kept popping out. Called many trans shops: "We don't do imports." "We don't do manuals." "We can't get parts for that." Finally, I asked my regular mechanic. He said, "If it has gears, I can fix it." He builds race cars, so I thought, OK.

Took it in in early January. And he found out what problems others had with parts availability. He finally chased them down, and I got it back yesterday. Since it was waiting earlier, I had a timing belt, too. And he noticed the clutch plate was trashed and replaced it.

Man, it feels different! I killed it a time or two before I got used to the new clutch. But it surely does stay in first now. Shifts much better, too.

It will be interesting to see what the new clutch and timing belt do to the mileage, if anything.

It took a bit to remember where the controls were for the wipers. Different setup in the Suburban that I've been driving for 2-1/2 months. :D
