National Public Radio Laying Off 7% of Staff

Post by SoupOrMan »

That's gotta hurt.

They're citing a reduction in corporate sponsorships as the reason for the layoffs.

As an experiment during my suburban days, I attempted to go an entire week with nothing but public radio in my car. It was disturbingly dull and predictably pro-socialism, especially the Chicago-area local interest programming.

70%? Nah. They need someone to keep those pledge drive tote bags from getting all wrinkly.

Total: $282,748

Robert Edwards, Senior Host

Total: $202,246

Steve Inskeep, Correspondent

Total: $202,378

These are the figures listed for the NPR executives and officers:

Kevin Klose, CEO
