Re: Windows 10

Windows 10 installed on my PC yesterday. It mostly works okay, but I can't log in to most of the forums and such I frequent. I can log in here, but even though I have auto sign in enabled, I still have to log in each time I visit. Arfcom and other sites won't let me log in at all. :P Any suggestions?

Aside from that, it's mostly been a matter of learning to navigate in the new system. It did rearrange all my favorites alphabetically, instead of how I had them set up in Win 7 and IE 11. I managed to delete my guns and ammo folder while learning how to arrange the favorites.

Are you using the new browser, or one that was previously installed?

Still waiting on the upgrade update to arrive. Looks like they have me set for a later time.

Got it on an HP laptop and this here Surface Pro 3. So far, so good. I had to reset some preferences to get back to Opera as a preferred browser (and reset the start-page prefs in Opera, but it left AdBlock Plus in place, and saved my bookmarks and dialpad entries.

Just realized they offer a Media Create Tool where you can download it to a USB stick or burn it as an ISO. Creating a disk now, I always prefer to have an offline way to reinstall if needed.

I'm using the new browser, Edge or whatever it's called. Surfs okay, but still... most of the old RH mouse button functions are gone, too.

Well--I found that IE11 is still on the computer, and launched it. All my favorites are just as I left them, and my RH mouse button is still as I like it. Still have my guns and ammo folder, too! And, I'm still logged in at arfcom and such!

The Edge browser does seem to be faster than IE, though. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. And please, don't lecture me about using IE--a certain former administrator here used to call me an idiot every time I mentioned it. :P

Funny thing is, I tried Firefox, Chrome, etc. I always ended up going back to IE. For all of its resource handling problems, it was still always better than the others, with perhaps the exception of Chrome. I'm wondering why they still produce Firefox updates anymore.

I use Chrome for almost everything, but a lot of that has to do with the fact that I use at least a dozen addons that only work on Chrome.

Installed it earlier today, went pretty smoothly. Not a bad looking interface, most things are where they normally are or near enough.

DX12 FTW! :)

What do the knowledgeable guys on the board think about this:

Windows 10 doesn't have spyware - It is spyware
