No 6207 A Study In Steel 1935

Really cool video of steam locomotive construction in 1935 England, from start to finish, as old school as it gets:

Lots of foundry, smithy and machine shop work going on. Needless to say, the work environment hardly meets modern standards.

I'll have to show this to my son. He works in a manufactory that makes tank cars for Union Tank.

I like using the workers as ballast when they're moving the large plates for the boiler.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Meh. The workers were probably mostly Welshmen and Irish, so any accidents wouldn't be regarded by management as any great concern.
The old school manufacturing process is suitably fascinating. Only a pity it's not in color.

If I recall my Calvin and Hobbes correctly, the physical world was in black and white back then.
