Just living. I like waterproof because I'm not always careful. I like alarms and timers so I don't forget things. I like relatively light and not too big because I tend to take those off and set them down.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

I've been looking at this one doc (black with metal band), although it is not titanium.

Go to World of Watches and drool...They have $700 watches clearing out for $88 and they are the real things, not PRC made copies and they provide free shipping CONUS.

I bought an Invicta Ladies Russian Dive Chrono Watch with mother of pearl face for the youngest as a high school graduation present or an getting into one of the two local universities on a full scholarship for her teaching degree...Retail was $1,600; I paid $89 (clearance sale) plus $39 shipping to Canada...Came with the warranty card which I registered with Invicta and didn't get any bad feedback from them.

When a watch says "chronograph," what is the practical use of that feature, and how do you use it?

And what do you do with rotating bezel on the face that's numbered 0-60?

It's primarily a stop watch for timing stuff or for elapsed time needed for road rally or aeroplane navigation...You push the top button to start and the bottom button to stop and pressed again to reset back to zero.

The bezel is there to set your time for diving so you'll know when you'd have to surface before your air runs out...It's also used for other things like warning when you'd have to leave for a meeting etc.

Hope this helps.

That was my guess, but I thought I'd check with the experts before I assumed.

What do you know about Momentum watches by St. Moritz Watch Corp out of Vancouver? Some of those look nice. I rather like this one.

Former GF bought me an Invicta for my BDay a few years ago. They look cool and the self winding thing is intriguing, but the accuracy was always off by a few minutes. YMMV.

Personally I won't buy a battery driven watch that doesn't also charge itself. I have had terrible luck with them. I've moved on to automatics and am much happier. Though there is nothing wrong with a manual wind watch.

The only electronic watch I've had any luck with is a Timex solar powered one.

Brandwise, my preference is Rolex and Omega. When you start talking about top tier tool watches it's hard to go wrong with either of these, but there are plenty of other companies that make a quality product. One thing to look for is who actually makes the movement, if you're looking at mechanicals. That can tell you a lot about the quality of the time piece.

Unfortunately only what I've read in the various trade journals over the years...They are solid, reputable and well made and priced watches B U T those prices on Amazon are horrible; 28% reduction is miniscule...I'd look around a bit more as Amazon's pricing on a number of types of products are not as good as other places.

WOW is offering up to 90+% off MSRP but they don't carry that line...They also offer much lower discounts on brands as well...I'm partial to Red Line and Swiss Legend from their offerings but I just ordered this for $75 retail $695 (89%)
ImageGreat retro look.

Oh, a tiny tidbit...Rally drivers, if right handed, wore their chronos on their right wrist...The reason, most would, of course, control the steering wheel with their left and in that position the watch face is obscured and you need to shift your arm to see it...Also, this way the buttons don't jab into the back of your hand when flexing.
