I have experience with this. Each person, each relationship, each situation is different; but they are also similar. As unfortunate as it is, that experience may be helpful to you. I wish I could say that I have wisdom, but I don't. I have just been red tip caning it as I go. There have been a few people who have shared their experiences with me and they helped to set up some realistic expectations, some understanding and some this sucks but you will make it through.

Let me know how I can help.

I'm so sorry, Mekender. You're both in my prayers. I wish you strength and peace.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I have no wife, but in the past few years I have lost my sister, my only sibling, to cancer and the step-father who has been there since I was 4 to a heart attack 1 year and 1 week later. There is always grief when you lose someone close, and it can really take you by surprise at times you least expect it to come over you, but the day will come when you can recall some past memory with fondness instead of with pain.
