Toad, in all those circumstances that's what your opposite (natural) sex significant other is for. If you're self-employed you don't have to wait for quitting time, and HR lives up to its' name.
I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.

So...the yearly survey came out.

Unsurprisingly, results have dropped from last year.

In some categories, they got 0% positive.

On topic, my worst all time boss was my first Department Head on my first ship. Total Napoleon complex. He was about 5'5" and if you were taller than him by 2" or more he hated your guts and there was nothing to be done about it. I worked for him for a year and a half and it all sucked.

As I am still on active duty I will just give a canned response a learned over a decade ago:

Take heed what ye say of your seniors,
Be your words spoken softly or plain,
Lest a bird of the air tell the matter,
And so ye shall hear it again.
-laws of the Navy

I've had to remind myself about this verse on more than one occasion (probably the one that served me best so far in the service). I'm sure one day soon I too will be able to openly join in these therapeutic conversations.
JAG: So why do you need armor piercing ammo?

JAG: For when they hide behind engine blocks?
tcourtplayer: Just because the movies say they will be dumb and slow doesn't make it true.
JAG: WOW!!!

Well...I just found out another manager lied to an EEOC counselor today.

Yeah, it didn't take me long to decide to make that IA complaint.

A forearm across the voice box in an elevator tends to get people to relax a bit. Hypothetically speaking.

Is that anything like getting a head lock at the top of a stair well?

Careful with stairwells , you can fall much further than a trip to the floor in an elevator.

While the hypothetical individual is in the head lock and held off balance at the top of the stair well, he is held facing the stairs and informed it is a long way down those stairs, and asked politely if he is going to stick to his job and stop messing with people who are not in his department.

How many cops does it take to push a guy down the stairs?
None, he tripped.
