When I was a kid, we raised rabbits along with pigs, goats, and a couple of Black Angus steers. It's been decades since I've had any fresh fried rabbit - and I DO miss it. If they didn't want to eat those chickens, they could trade them in for lots of other things around any bait & fishing shop. 'Gators LOVE nasty old rotten chickens.

It isn't rocket science, my Grandparents raised chickens in the 30's and they were not high school graduates.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
