Re: Interesting couple of weeks.

In April or May, I'm going to get a Colt letter of authenticity. By the way, it's going to be a shooter. Ordered a box from Buffalo Arms. 50 bucks with shipping. I didn't say I'd shoot it much. Should reload easily enough: http://www.starlinebrass.com/articles/The-38-WCF-38-40/ Sold all my reloadin...

Re: Interesting couple of weeks.

Okay, took the Colt apart and the only problem was a broken sear spring. Had one handy and put it in, gun works great now. Looks like someone tried to adjust the front sight by using a vice or pipe wrench.

Interesting couple of weeks.

Next door neighbor came over a couple of weeks ago and said he had a bunch of guns his father willed to him. He knew I was an amateur appraiser and collector and wanted to find out what they were worth. He brought over Colt SAA, made in 1914 in .38 LC (non working) Colt SAA, made in 1899 in .38WCF (...

Re: Top 10 Main Battle Tanks

Sheesh, looking down the list, my feeling is that the number 1 tank should be the Abrams. It's the only tank that's actually been in combat. Did you notice also that tanks are beginning to be like automobiles, every one looks nearly the same. Of course that's because of experimentation and design. C...

I'm thinking the snipers everywhere are thinking "target rich environment" while the planning group is thinking water cannons and massive amounts of pepper spray. If the anarchists get truly violent, that "whiff of grape" would be totally appropriate. Consider it the "chlori...

Subject of FOIA

I'm a member of the El Paso County Historical Commission. We've been very vocal about the city wanting to tear down one of the most historical neighborhoods in El Paso history. Seems we've pissed off city hall because the local newpaper editor/reporter who loves city hall has filed a FOIA request fo...

Just a quick story. How many of you went to the NoR meet in Plano years ago, hosted by Connie and Kim? 40 people, so many guns they filled a standard size bedroom. The Saturday mud shoot, Sunday's massive storm, the dinner and talking. One of the most enjoyable weekends shooting I've ever had. My wi...

Sounds like you trusted others too much, a common failing in business ventures. I don't know what you can do except drop out of the business, let her credit rating go to shit, and try starting on your own somewhere else. If a suit will get you some money, do it; but get the hell out of Dodge right a...

If it's all right, I'll post the three sales on here and, when the time runs out, I'll offer them to members. Don't bid on Gunbroker if you want one. The Merwin's a baby pocket in .38 S&W and is pretty beat up.

Online gun auctions dying?

Put 4 guns up on gunbroker. Sold a Nylon 66 for $250.00. Other three have been put up twice now. One c**ksucker bid last time on a Merwin and got his bid up to $550.00 (reserve was higher). Put up the exact same auction and the fuckwit bids $404.99 on it. I'm actually pricing them about right but no...
