You just need to try different ammo until you find what the gun likes. Oddly, my 10/22 doesn't like the Automatch but it loves CCI standard velocity. Haven't tried the minimags. My 10/22 eats it up, but it's got an Adams & Bennett sporter-weight match barrel on it, along with a titanium extract...

I've had really good results from Federal bulk pack .22LR, especially their Auto-Match stuff. Even better is that the local Wal-Mart usually has it in stock, 325 rounds for $14.99, which is an outrage, buts it's 5 bucks cheaper than it was this time last year, and no "two boxes per customer&quo...

Check the expander ball in the sizing die, it may be slightly oversize. If it's not really critical, you can chuck it up in a hand drill and use some fine (800 grit or finer) emory cloth to take a couple thousandths off of it, and see if that helps.

Re: Moore or Less in Alabama?

And somebody smarter than me has pointed out that if Moore's name was Robert Menendez (or if he had a D after his name), this wouldn't even be on the news.

Re: Moore or Less in Alabama?

Moore wasn't my first choice, or even my tenth one (I was holding out for Jonathan McConnell, because having a Senator who is also a Class III dealer would be totally cool) but when Bitch McConjob endorsed Luther Strange, he made sure I was going to vote for Moore. We'd already been saddled with Ric...

Re: Newest Minion and Handguns

One of the problems with lightweight 1911s is that some hollowpoints try to dig in on the feed ramp, and the aluminum frame just doesn't stand up to that sort of beating. The Ruger LWs have a titanium feed ramp, that is apparently cast into the aluminum frame. (Ruger does a lot of work with titanium...

Re: Newest Minion and Handguns

I'm actually pretty impressed with Ruger's 1911s. Fit and finish is good, and they seem to be pretty reliable out of the box. I ran a couple hundred rounds through the first one, and there were a couple of misfeeds in the first 50 rounds, but after that, no worries. Of course, I stripped and cleaned...

Thank you!

She tickles me with her "I can do anything the big girls do" attitude. And the only thing she's scared of is that someone, somewhere, will think she's scared of something, and Lord forgive me, I probably encourage that! So I guess this is sort of a self-inflicted injury.

Local Walmart has .22LR in bulk packs, with the best deal being Federal AutoMatch for $14.99 per box of 325 rounds, and no limit.

Re: Newest Minion and Handguns

That's a pretty standard Ruger single-action mod, especially if you're going to be shooting heavy loads. But it also helps the cylinder to index correctly, since it's about .002 oversized. I can't swear that it improves accuracy, but I think it does, a little. And it definitely keeps the base pin in...

So, I added a steel ejector-rod housing, and a bullseye ejector rod, a Belt Mountain base pin, and tweaked the front sight for windage and elevation. Groups are centered at 50 yards, and running about 4 inches when fired from a sandbag rest on a good bench. It's about as done as it's gonna get! Hope...

Read somewhere, recently, that the Reformation survived because of Luther's wife. She started a vegetable garden to feed the students that they took in as boarders, and then expanded to raising sheep, cattle, and hogs. Pretty soon, they had a full-fledged business going, selling the excess to local ...

Re: Hip Replacement Surgery

The problem is that the replacement joint has a 20-25 year service life, and you can't do it twice on the same joint. There are things that they can do to tighten up one that's worn out, but it's almost as bad as the original surgery, and only adds a few years to the use of it.

My grandfather, a 26-year-old father of three, decided that it was worth his time and effort, and he enlisted, along with two of his younger brothers.

It's really hard for me to accept that they wasted 2 years of their lives for nothing.

Yeah, but those are suppressors for firearms, right? It's a black-powder muzzle loader, it's not really a firearm, according to the ATF.

If you put a suppressor on something that isn't a firearm, then it's not really a suppressor, is it?
